Hi all, Is it possible to install SP2 on a computer with about 800MB of disk
space remaining? It's a fairly old Dell laptop, but seems to run OK with XP
Pro.

How much space does the update take?

thanks

Elijah

Thanks for the quick response. It looks like I don't need much memory if the
'Windows Restore' feature is turned off.. strange.

Turning off System Restore deletes existing Restore Points and releases disk
space!

Hope this helps.

Hi Elijah

May I suggest that you don't turn off System Restore, it may save space, but
all your existing checkpoints will be deleted.

The increase in size on my computer was well over 800 MB. YMMV.

I was suggesting turning off as a temporary measure. However, using the More
Options option in Disk CleanUp to delete all but the latest restore point
might achieve the extra disk space Elijah needs to install SP2,
