SP2 - disable yellow block banner

Is there a way to disable this small yellow banner always poping up, under
the url box, when blocking a pop up or such? I find that icon displayed at
the bottom, in the status bar, of IE is fully sufficent. It's so
annoying....

ideas anyone?
