SP2 (CD) & disable Firewall, Automatic, etc.

I am awaiting SP2 CD which will allow me to install on my
notebook (with some trepidation I might add, because of
horror storeis I have read about what has happened to pc
after installation).
#1- If and when I do install the SP2, how would I disable
the AUTOMATIC MS UPDATE function (I would rather update
myself)?
#2- How would I disable the SP2 Firewall? I would rather
continue to use my Norton Firewall 2004.
#3- Does SP2 have a POP-UP BLOCKER? Should I (could I)
disable it if I have Norton Firewall 2004, which blocks
pop-ups.
#4- Is there anything else in SP2 that I should disable in
as much as I have Norton AntiVirus 2004 and Norton
Firewall 2004?
Please advise,

#5- and please let me know why so many people are posting
the problems they are having after installing SP2.

There may seem like alot of people post the so
called "horror" stories about SP2. But what about the
thousands that have already installed it with no problem.
They have no need to post here as they are not having
problems. I have no problems with it but keep coming here
to maybe try and help others. In the security center of
SP2 there will be options of what you want to monitor or
take care of yourself. You will see it when you get it
installed. I love the new SP2.

I do this too. Keep coming back, because I see no end to
problems w/ SP2. I think SP2 is an excellent piece of
software.
