SP2 causing slow startup

Hi,

I've just installed SP2 on my XP box (P4 3.0GHz, 1GB RAM) and when the
machine boots it takes a long time for messenger to sign in. Firstly,
messenger begins to sign in and then I get a popup from the Security Advisor
saying the status of my Firewall is unknown. This disappears and it takes
what appears to be an age before I get another popup saying I've no
anti-virus software installed.

I'm using Norton Internet security 2004 (fully updated). Are they any
compatability issues between this and SP2's firewall? Has anyone experienced
a lag similar to mine?

Just hoping somebody can shed some light on the problem!

Regards,

Open the security control panel and configure it so you, not XP, is in
charge of security.

Disable XP's firewall and use Norton's.
