SP2 and XP Professional

After installing SP2 successfully my Professional version
of XP reads just Windows XP on boot up!
What has happened to the Professional part?
Why did I pay extra for the Professional version if the
SP2 seems to make Home and Professional the same?

Home and Professional are not the same, you still have all the features you
previously had and Home Edition still has the same limitations. The change
is strictly cosmetic. If you go to System in Control Panel, does it not say
Windows XP Professional?

It's just a cosmetic change. If you had XP Pro before SP2, you have it after
SP2 with all it's functionality intact. My XP Home no longer says 'Home'
during the boot process either........it's no big deal!!!

No, no, they are not the same. It's the same for everyone who has
installed SP2.

Microsoft elected, for whatever reason, to stop displaying the
"Professional" or "Home" on that screen.

The display doesn't matter and there is nothing to worry about.

You can use Inno Logo to change the bitmap of boot screen back to old-one.
