sp2 and rpc problem (not virus caused

I tried to install SP2 and now I can't get my computer to go because it all
the time gives the RPC error message
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and NT AUTHORITY SYSTEM RPC SHUTDOWN system has
to shut down
I used the Anti virus stinger to look at viruses . None detected. I also
used daily virus updates and zone alarm firewall.

I tried to uninstall SP2 in different ways. None successfull.
None of the different ways to use system restore worked safe mode or not.

Using XP disk to reinstall XP did not work as it says that I have newer
version on my computer.


So what can I do???

Hi Gregor;

I've just installed SP2 and I'm getting the same error message that you have
described in your post. Did you ever get it fixed?
