SP2 and Home Networking

I have installed SP2, and tried to run the Network setup wizard, at the end i
get the message : an error occurred during configuration of the network on
this computer.

This is the host computer I have 2 other machines that cant connect to the
net now but did before I installed SP2, turning the windows firewall off
makes no differance
and still get the same error message,

the other strange occurrance is that windows wont show my system information
anymore.

Should I restore and forget SP2
