SP2 and Firewall Configuration

Steve

I have installed SP2 and one thing I have noted is that
everytime I start my PC the default for the updated
Firewall is 'OFF'? I re-set to 'ON' but I have to do this
everytime I start my PC, any ideas why? I have an up to
date copy of Norton Antivirus s/w and scanned my Pc prior
to the update and after updating and it shows zero
problems? HELP

Are you on a network? Logging into a domain? If so,
everytime you log on the domain security model applies,
which means that XP's software firewall is off, by
default. This is due to the assumption that any traffic on
your network/domain is legitimate. Domains tend to have
traffic that is required, but you as a user may not
realize is needed.

Thanks
Dr. Sys
