Hello WeZ,
In order to update to another build (such as RC1, 2096), you will need to
uninstall 2082 first. Build to build updates are not currently supported
for express installation.
Another thing that may be confusing is the new feature in Windows XP SP2 in
Add/Remove Programs. Since many customers didn't like seeing all the
Windows Updates cluttering Add/Remove programs, we implemented a way to hide
them. Here's how you display them again:
Click Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs
On the top of the Add/Remove Programs Window, you will see a new option
called "Show updates".
Click on this so that there is a check mark displayed.
You should now see a section in your currently installed programs and
updates called "Windows XP - Software Updates"
From here you can remove hotfixes or uninstall the existing service pack.
