I currently have windows XP home SP2 and my computer is going very slow. Is
there any way to go back to SP1 and if so will it make it any faster and what
are the changes.?

SP2 shouldn't have slowed your machine down, make sure you are
virus/malware free D/L and runn the following packages

then get the latest pattern file here
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/viruspattern.asp

You will need a live internet connection for this
http://www.ik-cs.com/programs/virtools/SmitFraud.exe

You should not immediately install SP-2 without checking for a better
solution.

Depending if the uninstall files have not been deleted.
Go to Add/Remove Programs.
Double click "Service Pack 2" and follow the prompts to uninstall.

But FIRST, make sure your computer is free of spyware, viruses and other
malware, yellow section on this link:

The rest of the checklist may also be relevant.
 
That should have been:
"You should not immediately UNinstall SP-2 without checking for a better
solution."
