It's working great on my machine -- no problems whatsoever, and I've got an
awful lot of strange stuff running.

Is anyone having any problems after installing sp1 on vista?

Of course. It doesn't matter what the "it" is; whenever you ask if
anyone is having problems with "it," the answer is that there are
always people having problems with it. There are undoubtedly some
people having problems running notepad.

That said, I've had no problems with it here.

yes, I am having difficulty. Some of the screen savers will not run, ex.
Mystfy and Bubbles. Worked fine before SP1. I can get them all to run on
Preview, but not any other way.

Any ideas?

thanks.

Re-Format your Computer And Install Open Source Linux Ubuntu, Just FYI.

thanks for the suggestions, both of you. Not interested at this time in
switching over to Linux.

FYI: when I turned on my laptop this morning, low and behold! the screen
saver worked. Guess it needed to 'sleep on it'. hehe. Anyway all is working
fine.

And I do enjoy Vista, much more than XP. My husband has XP and has no end
to problems with it. I have Vista on my laptop and desktop.

My sympathies to all who are having trouble.

Thanks again for replying. :)

I can help you, Fred: I am having a problem with Vista post SP1 on my laptop.
(NOt on my desktop.) The computer shuts down unpredictably and, on re-boot,
I get the options to start windows normally, safe mode, etc. I'd love to
solve this as it has made my laptop useless for such things as taking it to a
client and showing a PPT.
