SP 2 installation and unknown error code

I get the error code 80242FFF when tring to install the
windows update, I have looked for a solution but cannot
find this error code, also my computer has slowed down
and although I am am able to access the internet on
reaching a link page I get the page that says server
unavailable, so cannot find the info I need. I am
running AVG virus software and it is up to date. Can any
one help me.
