Not sure where to post this?

I have seen this reported before, but have not found a fix. Does one exist?

You have seen it before, although we never heard if the suggestion to use
this KB helped to fix the problem. What I'm looking at is the value in P1
or error 0x80072ee2. Please let us know if the guided help here does in
fact fix the problem:

I have not seen the error again ... However, that kb deals with "Windows
Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web" which is not causing me any
problems. My system is current with all updates.

I will watch it for a while.

Thanks.

Hi Alan;

'Bout all I know about that 5000 error is what Joe Faulhaber (MSFT) said
last October to Alan D:
"That's the "Internet timeout" error code. Probably means you couldn't
talk
to WU properly for a bit.
Regards,
Joe"

To me, that translates as "no worries".

Just to echo Dave's reply - yes indeed. I still encounter this error very
occasionally but I don't worry about it any more. The last time it happened,
it coincided with Defender starting its daily scan, checking for updates
first, and I think at the time my internet connection was down briefly. It
might be worth looking at the time it occurred for you, to see if there was
any simple reason why at that moment it couldn't access Windows update, but
as Dave says - basically, it's of no importance. Joe says so!
