I have XP Home and I don't have any sound. I was looking
for ways to reset the volume and found a place where I was
told I don't have a mixer installed

Not much help since I don't know what a mixer is or how to
install it.

SOMEONE HELP

PLEASE

If you have a speaker Icon in your system tray click
it,opens your valume control, turn 'em up and uncheck the
mute boxes. If you don't go to start button--control panel-
-sounds--you can change it from there, check box for show
in tray, uncheck mute if it's checked and move the slider
up--check apply should take care of it for you.

Control panel---administrative tools---services---is windows audio enabled?

Grady fyi Never post your email on forums of this nature...spam bots could get ahold of it and you would be spammed to death
You provide very litttle info about your problem I suggest contacting the maker of your pc and or sound card...
This could be anything..Drivers, speakers, software ..to vauge..
