sound when copying

B

Best

My computer always used to make a sound when I copied something, in any
program. That has now disappeared. Any thoughts on how to reset it? (my
sounds for everything else seems to work fine)

First off your posting does not appear on MS Official Nwsgroup for
Vista Support.
Perhaps your account is flagged as spa* or you don't use Newsgroups
reader to post, as most of us do.

Anyways, to answer your question:
You need to check whether WIndows Sounds was fully or partially
disabled by accident.
Use one of the mthods below (no difference):
1) Right-click on empty desktop area--.select "Sounds" from menu
or
2) Goto ControlPanel--.Sound-->click on "sounds" tab.

Once you're there, the rest if obvious. Check if a specific soundbyte
is enabled for file copy/paste/delete or whichever action you need to
be accompanied by sound.
This will only help you if there's NO GLOBAL AUDIO PROBLEM.
In plain English, if you only lost this little sound you were
accustiomed to, but all other audio is working fine i.e. you can
listen to music & video.
If you can't hear ANY sounds, music, or video, then it's a global
problem with Audio in general.
That would be handles in places like Device Manager, Services and
volume/mixer control.

Let us know if your problem is "global" or local, but I swear i can't
see your posting on official MS Newsgroup.
I found it by accident on GoogleGroups instead.
