Sound Problems

I have clips in alot of
differant collections that I want to set to a song but they have audio, so I
muted each clip and what I got was a brief period of sound and then nothing.
So the problem is I trimmed down these clips if I combine them and then mute
it I will have too much video for what I wanted. HELP!

Not sure what is happening here, can you explain more clearly.

You have a clip
you mute the clip
you put it on the timeline and you get some sound and then it stops???????

Or after putting the clip on the timeline with the background music, the
video clip is still muted but the background music plays for a while and
then stops????

If this is the case it sounds like you may be using an incompatible file
type, like MP3, use wmv/wav/wma
