Sound problems with SoundMAX Digital Audio

I recently installed windows 2000 on a machine with a MS-6309 motherboard and
a SoundMAX Digital Audio card. I loaded all the hardware drivers, and the
device manager reports that all devices are functioning properly. I can throw
an audio cd in the machine and it plays through the Windows CD player with no
problems whatsoever. However, I get no sounds from Windows at all(startup,
critical stop, etc.).

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hello,

With SoundMax there are 2 sets of volume controls, the standard Windows one
and a new Soundmax one - check that the levels are correct on both and a
device is not muted on one and not the other?
