sound only works on headsets??....

Just recently my regular speakers stopped working but i get sound out of my
headsets. Ive done eveerything i can think of besides go out and by a new
sound system. Any other suggestions out there?

If you unplug your sound system and plug in your headphones directly into the
PC, do they work?
If you plug your headset into your sound system, do they work?

If it's the first case, then it sounds like it could be a bad plug on the
sound system (or could be worse)

If it's the second case, then the problem is within the sound system (since
the cord is functional).
