Hi-

The question has been asked before. Why Windows cannot execute
DpvSetup.exe.? Testing Sound Hardware says there's an error during Direct
Play Voice Setup. Error message says: Ox80004005.

Please let me know how and why I got this problem, especially when it was
working just right yesterday. Could it be that another program took it away
and placed a lock on it?

Thanks for all the help you can send.

Did you install anything new or make any changes? Try a system restore
to just before the problem happened. Go to Start | Help and Support.
Click on System Restore in the top menu line.

Rock-

I went to Microsoft Web site for Microsoft Agent. I was missing the speech
engine for sound hardware testing. It's a nifty DirectX diagnostic tool.

I just couldn't imagine how I lost the program in the first place, because
it was preinstalled in Windows XP. However, I thought that a change could
have occured when I installed a Microsoft Net Framwork update. What do you
think?

Rock, if you should know more about Microsoft Agent speech recognition,
please drop a line.

Note: Speech recognition engines:
Speech recognition engines provide speech input capabilities for Microsoft
Agent. At this time Microsoft provides a single U.S. English speech
recognition engine for use with Microsoft Agent. To use this engine you
should have a Pentium 120-MHz PC (or faster). Click the link below to
download this speech engine.

Download the Microsoft® Speech Recognition Engine (6 MB exe)

Once again, thank you for your input.
