Sound Cards

Ok i just got vista ultimate 32bit today everythings working except my sound
card. I really dont want to upgrade if i dont have too but anyways i have
a santa cruz sound card it pumps out crystal clear sound and another thing i
have an onboard sound card realtek ac'97 for some odd reason that one wont
work i tried it with xp and it didnt even work with that. it started when we
had a storm and the lights went off. i had everything hooked up to a power
protector thing. i dont see y its not working but if anyone can help me that
would be great

Your on-board AC97 sound is probably set to Auto in the BIOS - check that it
is not Disabled - and will not work (it is automatically disabled if another
sound card is detected at boot) until you remove your sound card.
