Download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website and install them.

hi maggie, let us know things like ... did it just stop..
did you install xp onto a new pc etc... the more we know
the better we can answer you.. like galley said if you
know your manufacturer of the sound card, get the latest
drivers.
