sound card not detected

Hello everybody,

i have a strange problem, maybe could somebody here help me!
I work with HP Pavilion 8052, XP SP2, integrated Soundcard Conexant.
In Device manager I can install any audion driver, but when I start dxdiag,
it doesn't find any sound card (dimmed). Many XP Kernel drivers (wmaud.sys,
ks.sys) are not started. I tried to install all new driver from HP Site but
not success.

Thank you

maria

Drivers are designed for "specific" type of hardware. The drivers must
"detect" the sound card before "activating". Make sure that:

1) Integrated sound card is "enabled" in BIOS (before Windows XP boots.)

2) Use the correct drivers, provided for HP (CD or downloaded from their web
site.) -- Must match exact model.

3) Never rely on Windows Update drivers. Usually an old version and are known
to cause problems.
