Howdy,
I use Windows Media Player V 9.00.00.3250 running with Win
2000 Pro.
Today, for some reason, when I tried to view online mpgs I
had an odd problem:
The connection would be made, (what I take to be) the first
image would display, the audio would play, but no further
video would be visible, that is, while the audio played, the
video was "stuck" on that opening image.
When it first happened, I did not think much of it. I just
tried another link, but it happened again.
I went to another website, and found the same thing.
The problem does not occur with every link, but does with
nearly all.
At that point, I assumed that I had some sort of problem
with Media Player itself, and so tried to open a few mpg
files that I had locally. All opened perfectly.
I have noticed in the past that some mpgs load and display
rather quickly (perhaps because they are shorter or of lower
resolution) while others display the progress of buffering.
Today, when the problem I have described started, I noticed
that if the buffering progress bar displayed, the video
would display. If the progress bar failed to display, it was
very likely (perhaps 90%) that the video would get "stuck."
So, at this point, I am baffled, and would welcome any help
on this,
