Sorting Table of Contents Alphabetically?

Hi,

I am working on a table of contents of a large document and I have the TOC
working fine, but I need to know how to separate or sort alphabetically. Does
anyone know how to do this? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

This topic has been discussed a number of times in this newsgroup.
Look at the results of the search

The responses are basically (a) use an index instead or (b) after
updating the TOC field, unlink it and sort the resulting plain text,
but it won't update if the document changes.
