I decided to give Outlook 2003 a try; I followed instructions to convert
email and folders from OE. After opening my Deleted Items and Sent folders
in Outlook and failing to sort properly the enclosed messages, I became
frustrated.
In Outlook, I selected the option to sort my messages in the folders by
date. Incredibly, I found that the messages in the folders were indeed
sorted by date, but also primarily by recipient or addressee: i.e. all the
messages for John Baker were sorted in sequence by date, followed by all the
messages to Charlie Smith by date, followed by all the messages to Susan
Green, etc. -- I don't believe the recipients were listed alphabetically
(chronologically?). In short the listing is a variable mess, making it
difficult to review past messages or to find a particular message.
Is there any way to obtain a simple chronological sorting of all messages as
in Outlook Express? After much disappointment, I reinstalled Outlook Express
as my default email program.
