Sorting column - one gets skipped

I have a spreadsheet with 4 columns. The first column is text, the last 3
numbers.
If I right-click on a cell in the last column, and chose Sort>Largest to
Smallest, it sorts correctly except, it skips the very first row in the
spreadsheet - it stays at the top, and doesn't get sorted.
What could be causing that?

Hi,

If Excel can't tell that the top row is data it will assume it is a title
row. To get around this problem choose Data, Sort, and choose No header row
(2003) or uncheck My data has headers (2007)

That worked. Thank you.
