Sony retaliates against PSP hackers

As soon as Sony released their portable PlayStation (PSP), hackers were ready and waiting to find it's weaknesses. They managed to find bugs allowing them to run their own applications on the device - something which Sony insist it was not designed to do.

Sony updated the firmware recently, with the aim of eradicating the bugs and also adding new features. However, it did not take hackers long to find a way to revert the programming back to the previous, more 'hackable' version.

Sony is preparing yet another firmware update in retaliation to this.

My mate has been "playing" with his PSP since he bought it from Japan when they were released there, his view is "I bought and paid for it, so I can do what I want with it" and i see his point... he already has some linux thing on it :eek: but I fall asleep when he gets all techy explaining what else he does with it :D

must just like to show that he can put an operating system on a psp

i've seen someone with windows 95 on a psp and itunes
