Sony FDD

Does anyone has the pin layout of an internal floppy disk drive of Sony,
model MPF920. Where is the location of pin1 at the 34-pin connector.
Is it close to the power plug or is it at the other side?

I have a brandnew FDD over here, but I can't get it to work. I tried
another brand FDD (Compaq) on the same motherboard which was
working fine.

Thx.

Floppies normally away from the power
connector. What is always correct is that
if the keying slot is on the top of the
drive connector, then the pin 1 is to the left
of it(this is the norm). If on the bottom,
then it would be on the right(unusual).

I checked this with my Compaq FDD. There is a keying slot at the bottom,
but the pin1 is still at the left!

Then look on the pc board. pin 1 is
usually marked. Actually I checked my Teac and
it's bottom left, so go with that. If it's
incorrect all that happens is the drive light
comes on steadily at boot and it won't work.

I have another model of sony fdd: MPF920-E of the year 2004
instead of: MPF920-Z of the year 2002. The PCB board layout
is completely different. With this newer model the motor is
mounted between the power plug and the 34-pin plug, and this
pin is not missing at the connector.
