Sony DVD Rom drive

Windows 2000 do not see my newly installed Sony drive.

I initially had an HP CDRW drive (worked fine. I removed
it and installed the Sony drive. It do not show up! I
keep getting the following message in my device manager...
need help. What is code 31 ???

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot
load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
