And remember to make sure anyone who was connected with your system for the
online gaming may also be infected. You need to warn them so they don't
continue the cycle of keeping the virus alive.

I have already warned as many people as possible today.
Its gonna be a long haul tommorow gonna be lots of people
to notify. luckily for me about 75% of the people i do
stuff with on the net visit message boards that i will be
postings warnings on.

I appreciate your concern for the community and the other
users that could be struck by this horibble creation.

peace out! :)

When you post, give them the information you've learned too - what to look
for, where the remedy is, including the links. It is tough when bitten by a
virus, and I really hope you get it straightened out.

I intend to give all info i have unfortunaly i do not know
how to get rid of it yet i will be looking into it as soon
as i install xp, to try and share with people from what i
saw when i was searching on google right before the system
crash there seem to be alot of people with this problem
and no solutions. so one can only hope.

Removal of the virus can be done with any anti-virus program with current
definitions, but with Windows XP, you must turn off System Restore prior to
performing the AV check. Unless you do that, the virus will remain on the
system and replicate itself upon the next boot. As noted on various sites,
attempts to edit the Registry results in the virus hiding itself while the
Registry is open.

If you don't have an anti-virus, I would suggest the free AVG program from
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php . It works very well. In the case
where it has basically thrashed your system, I would boot with the Windows
XP CD, format the drive and build it up again. Then first thing run AVG
against the install.
