something similar to Refelector (.Net decomplier)

Annie

hello guys,

Is there any other alternative to Refelector (.net Decompiler).

I want the option of integration with Visual Studio, so I will be able to
click on a DLL within the VS and be
able to see the source. While Refelector does work very well, it lacks that
option?

any comment will be appreciated

You may want to try our Decompiler.NET product. It includes a Visual
Studio Add-In and a built in obfuscator. The 2.0 version includes an
Add-In for VS2005.

You can download a free trial version from

We do provide a free limitied version of Decompiler.NET to MSDN
subscribers that decompiles small assemblies and does not expire. It is
integrated with VS2005 and we also provide free support for it. The
users of our free version and our commercial customers find our code
generation to be more accurate and higher level than other available
freeware tools. We interact regularly and share ideas with the authors
of freeware and comptetitive commercial tools. You can activate the
MSDN license of Decompiler.NET completely free if you have already
purchased an MSDN subscription from Microsoft. If you are already an
MSDN subscriber, you can download the free MSDN version from
http://www.junglecreatures.com/

We do provide a free limitied version

IOW, you're spamming a freeware group with non-freeware. ("Limited"
isn't freeware.)

You've probably only succeeded in *eliminating* some potential
customers. Take your spam elsewhere.

Al,

It's size limited, not time or feature limited. We have thousands of
users who appreciate the "FREE" capabilities we do provide. The minimal
revenue we do derive from our commercial version just enables us to
invest time in improving the product and providing better support to
both customers and users of our free version. You may want to review
Venn diagrams.

That makes it off topic in acf.

Not necessarily, that just makes it "crippleware", which by itself *could*
be on-topic, providing that the discussion clearly states the severity of
the "crippling" (is there such a word?).

What makes it definitely off-topic is that the "size limited" edition
*requires* a MSDN-subscription, which *not* is free.
Spamming is spamming. Claiming that
it's not is also spamming.

Agree on that.

Bjorn,

Thanks for the support in this discussion. Our intention was to address
question raised in the original post. Our trial version also does not
expire, and might also be considered crippleware. We derive no revenue
from the MSDN license, only exposure through our partnership with
Microsoft. Please email me directly and I'll provide an MSDN license to
you free of charge.

Bjorn,

Thanks for the support in this discussion.

I'm not sure I was supporting you or your software.

I just wanted to clarify that crippleware not neccessarily is off-topic in
the newgroup.

Software that require some kind of monetary input is *always* off-topic.
Our intention was to address
question raised in the original post.

There's no question about that. The question is whether your post was
appropriate to a *freeware* newsgroup. I believe it was *not* appropriate.
Our trial version also does not expire,
and might also be considered crippleware.

And we can get that for free, without obligations or specific requirements
that in turn makes it non-freeware?

There nothing wrong with promoting your own software in this group, as long
as it's freeware. Many of the posters here do so, either through blatant
plugs right into discussions, or more discreetly with a link in the sig
(like me).

But in your case, if you continue to view your software as appropriate to
this newsgroup, I expect you to provide EVERYONE that ask for it, with a
MSDN licence free of charge.

Otherwise, I suggest you refrain from suggesting non-freeware, as this is a
freeware group. It's better to leave a discussion empty, than to suggest
non-freeware.

To the OP, maybe you can e-mail JungleCreatures and get their software, now
together with a free MSDN licence. :)

We offer our trial version completely free of charge to the developer
community with useful functionality that does not expire. The version
we provide to existing MSDN customers is also free for anyone who
already owns a non-free MSDN subscription. We charge $0 for both the
trial version and the version we provide to existing MSDN customers,
and we provide free support as well to both types of users. We derive
no direct revenue from either version and have volunteered our time
along with our competitors to offer valuable tools to the developer
community.
