Some webpages cannot be displayed on XP mach.

When I try to navigate into certain web pages when I am connected via a
Local Area Connection on DSL, I get a "page cannot be displayed" message.
This only happens on my XP Pro computer when connecting via DSL. When using
the XP computer and connecting via Dial-up, there is not a problem with the
troublesome web pages.

I first encountered the problem on Ebay, and I thought it was an Ebay
problem. I asked them for help, and we deleted cookies, objects, checked
internet settings etc, with no success. Later, when attempting to "Pay
Bill" online at the American Express website (a secure site), I encountered
the same problem. I contacted American Express, but they could not identify
the problem either. I contacted my company "in-house" Help Desk, but they
had no solutions. I contacted my ISP, but they could not identify the
problem.

When using Windows 98 SE or 2000 computers, I successfully connect to these
same web pages without any problem using DSL or Dial-up. With the XP
computer, parts of Ebay, parts of American Express and parts of the Windows
Help page cannot be displayed when connected via DSL, but they can be viewed
or navigated to when using a dial-up connection.

Seems like there is something different between the DSL and Dial-up
connections, but so far I have found no solutions from the experts. Has
anybody else had this problem and found the solution?

Very perplexing.

Turns out it was my DSL modem. Nothing to do with the XP or IE6. A product
specialist helped me bridge the modem connection firmware.
