Some question about FIXBOOT,FIXMBR,bootcfg.......

The OS of my computer is WinXP Pro. . The computer was fine before, however
since yesterday I could not boot into windows anymore. Even "safe mode"
Still cannot access. After it popup the boot menu, it will goes to "blue
screen" immediately. Then I used the XP CD to reinstall(Upgrade) the OS, but
the same problem comes up.

I don't know why this happen as I didn't change any hardware for this
computer. Now I am gonna to try the recovery console from the XP CD, however
I am not sure the command of "fixboot, fixmbr, bootcfg"....etc. Here I got
few questions as below.

1) Will these command (Fixboot, FixMBR, bootcfg) delete or format my hardisk
?? I don't wanna format my harddrive.
2) Or any commands/methods could any experts tell me that help to fix my
problem ??

Before trying those, try

CHKDSK /R

from the recovery console prompt.
