Some network help please.............

Have 2 PC's, both running win XP professional.
They are connected by network cable to a hub, which is connected to the
cable modem.
Each computer is setup in the same workgroup.
Each computer can see the internet just fine, but they can't see each
other..........
My wife and I are both logged on tour respective computers with admin
privileges.
File and printer sharing is enabled on both computers, but when I try to
"View workgroup computers" there is a 1 minute pause, then I get "XXXXXXXX
is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
resource. Contact the admin of this server to find if you have access
permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently
available."
Have tried with "Enable simple file sharing" on and off

Any help would be appreciated!

Is the "hub" a router? If not that may be your problem. Read this:

It's a router and a hub, but setup just as a hub............the router
functions are disabled
