Home Network

This is further to my recent post where I am still not able to get one
computer to appear on my home network.

I have 'Enabled NetBIOS over Tcp/ip' as suggested and that has done
nothing.
I have tried turning off and than on the Firewall. No difference. This
computer still doesn't appear in the network.
I even went to 'add/remove programs - and in components, I clicked
Networking Properties, and in the Details area I check 'network'. That
still did nothing for me.

When I click on "View Workgroup Computers" I get this message:

"My Workgroup is not accessible. I might not have permission to use this
network resource. The list of servers for this workgroup is not available."

Why am I getting such a message.

Also - when I run 'net view \\(workgroup) I get "System error 53 occurred.
Network path was not found.

I can use the computer to access the internet and use the email services
etc.... but no luck whatsoever with seeing any of the other computers or
printers in the house.

What a life, eh?

Anyone please.

Is File and Printer Sharing enabled on the machines? Is the Browser
service running?

Thanks Again John for trying to help me out with my situation.
File and Printer Sharing is enabled. But just wondering... is there more
than one place to turn that on?
Also - Browser service? What do you mean by that?

Look in your Help files for more help. You may also find the document
here helpful:

That is the Computer Browser service, in the Services Management
Console, to open the console enter services.msc in the Start Menu Run box.

Also, look in the Event Log to see if any errors are recorded. You will
also find a wealth of information on the following sites:
