Some images dont display in Excel 2003 on one particular PC

Excel mfg documents have multiple images embedded. Several display
as red X. Others in worksheet show fine. This only happens on one
PC, same worksheet shows all images on other computers. Appears
that inserted .wmf or .bmp do not display.

Have repaired, removed, and reinstalled office 2003 all to no avail.
Installed all windows updates and office 2k3 sp3.

Tried removing all other images from worksheet except the ones not
showing, in case it was a memory problem. Stopped other apps, etc.
PC has 1 gb memory.

Checked file associations in win xp.
..wmf, and .bmp open fine via file associations, in viewer programs.

Cant figure out next troubleshooting steps. Any Ideas?

Just a complete guess...

Have you played with the video driver (or settings)?

You may want to check the manufacturer's site for a current version of the
driver.

And if you fiddle with any of the settings, write down what they are before you
change them!

Dont know what the user may have done to their laptop.
Upgraded the video drivers to the latest version. Still cant
display some images in excel worksheet.
It appears to only be the embedded .wmf files that do not appear in
the Excel worksheet. Other images show up.
.wmf files open outside excel open normally.
