Some emails disappear -- then re-appear -- then disappear again!!!

Weird things are happening with my Outlook email - primarily the Inbox.
What's really weird is that 3-4 emails that I viewed yesterday might not be
there today. I mean nowhere - in none of the folders. Then... here's the
crazy part -- on the next day, they sometimes reappear again! On occassion,
they disappear again. They are from senders on different ISPs and nothing in
common is connecting them or the email content. This is getting to be
spooky!

I am running OL 2003 on Windows XP Home - SP2. Anyone have any ideas on
how to deal with this?

Thanks,

Jay

Have you been messing around with your views? If you set the default view
to "messages" do all of the emails appear?

Milly,

I have not changed any of the original default settings of OL 2003. It is
in the default view of "messages". Since last Thursday, approximately 5
emails now seem to be permanently gone. In groups of 2 or 3, they
disappeared on Saturday, and then reappeared on Sunday -- only to disappear
again on Monday. Since then, they seem to be gone permanently. However,
since Monday morning I have not noticed any new disappearing messages.

No, I am not dreaming this up! No, I am not hearing voices either!

Thanks for your attempt of help thus far.

Jay
