Some controls on this presentation can't be activated.

I just want it to work the way it use to!
I have a massive PPS that I distribute via CD (it plays from CD or ian
option to install locally) that is a Sales and Training presentation which
include all of our product lit. , Sales tools, and interactive product demos
recorded in SWF format. That is where the problem started.
With the last MS update related to Active Content, my movies (which were
started from a link in PowerPoint to it's htm file) began getting messages to
click to activate and at the end, that windows has stopped a potential danger.
After taking suggestions on adding code to each of my 125 htm files and
creating js files I desided to just add new slides for each movie and embed a
flach object for each new slide.
This worked great!!!! On my computer:(
On each OTHER computer I tried it on, I get macro warnings and / or Some
controls on this presentation can't be activated. They might not be
registered on this computer.
My origional design for this presentation (2 years and 1200 copies ago) was
to be idiot proof. Even technophobes could and have used it.
Now security warnings, errors, messages with words like danger in it has
rendered it useless.
How can I distribute my PPS that runs from CD or hard drive with interactive
flash movies that will be plug and play without massive amounts of
instructions and assurances to the end user user? ( Just like it use to)

You aren't going to like this answer, but if you are using various
controls that are not registered on other computers, they just won't
work. Also, the macro warnings are because of security settings on the
other computers and for security reasons you can't control these
settings on the other computers, otherwise they wouldn't be secure.

Unfortunately the world has moved on and hackers are using applications like
PowerPoint to spread their garbage. In other words, you can't do what you
want. Think about this a second. If I could build a presentation with code
and controls hidden in it I could do ANYTHING I wanted to the end users
computer. Sorry but most people do not want that.

I am desperate!

In order to play a SWF movie on a Windows machine the SWF control must be
installed and registered in the system registry.

Thanks.
I understand the reasons behind this but, before embeded the flash into the
slides I ran htm files that I called from a link on the PPS. My first finding
in hopes to resolve the issue was adding code to my htm file and using a java
script in the directory that the htm files reside. (All suggested by
Microsoft) So if I want to run my movies as a web page I can do it with out
regard to the new security but if I want to run a local or CD based PPS, I
can't?

I know this may be off the mark, or something you have already
considered, but why not simple embed the flash movie directly into
PowerPoint or just use a HTML main page?

There are a few comments on this board about how inserting flash in
PowerPoint, or use the tool I like the Flash Toolbar. Some of the
documents we work with are over 100mb per .pps file, with digital
movie, flash and audio.

Good luck.

I did try that. That's what brouoght me here. Worked great on my PC but the
first other computer I tried it on would not load the controls. Automaticly
disabled them with no option to change. None of the movies would play.
Figured if it happened on that computer it would happen on others. Canned 2
days of work.

I went back to my old PPT layout using the links to the htms.
I created another movie that runs from my CD that walks the user through the
what and why for the security settings. As soon as the movie ends, the Adobe
security window pops up, they knkow what it is now and how to configure it,
and their done.
