does anybody know where i can turn to find help with how
to use the solver add-in? the Help function is pretty
useless. thanks.

I would suggest buying a used college-level textbook in
management science / operations research that uses Excel
Solver to run the models. The current one we are using in
my decision sciences course is an excellent guide for
learning and applying Solver and even comes with a CD
with "premium" Solver.
