solution - active directory and dns problem - no _msdcs etc srv records

Just in case anyone googles this out. I've installed win2k about
6 times and everytime when active directory created the dns the
forward zone had no srv records such as the _msdcs or _tcp
records. I think my problem was that during the installation of
the host I was configuring the tcp/ip but not pointing the DNS
server to itself. I also fiddled with the advanced DNS settings
to add my domain to the search path etc. Hope that helps.

When in an Active Directory environment, never use an ISP or other external
DNS in TCP/IP properties, in any position, on any interface. Always use the
internal DNS server that supports the AD Domain on all Active Directory
domain members.
