solely search certain cells

Hi, I'm looking for a way to search only one or two specific cells from a
number of workbooks in a directory - without opening the workbooks.

As a workaround i'm currently searching the workbooks and then using getdata
to retrieve the data from the cells i want. The problem with this approach
is that it appears rather time consuming and often hangs.

Any help would be appreciated
 
Thanks Ytayta555 but i was actually looking for a way to search cells not
retrieved the contents of the cell.

I've since discovered that the .filesearch object is unreliable and actually
has been removed excel 2007, so i'll try other avenues.
