hi does anyone know a good site that has freeware and shareware software on it? many thanks for any replies

www.download.com and www.tucows.com are probably your best bets - both are full of free/shareware items.

I use them both quite a bit to find applications I didn't even knew existed!

i also found another site, and seen as you told me that,

it's called betanews..

and the address is

http://betanews.com once you get on the site, click on the FILEFORUM toolbar

and it has hundreds of free freeware/shareware downloads..
