My brother has Windows XP with Kazaa installed. I know that Kazaa is a bad
thing in many ways. He has a Linksys router/firewall. He installed the
newest version of Kazaa and now everytime he boots his computer, it resets
(reboots) his router. Anyone know exactly which part of Kazaa's spyware is
doing this?

No, this newsgroup is dedicated to Windows XP issues and
not issues with malware such as Kazaa. As you found out,
Kazaa is a very poorly written application.

No, it is Kazaa. Have tried the router in other enviroments and the router
works fine. As soon as Kazaa is installed this begins. Installed DietK and
it stopped. I have looked at several of the applications, and cannot pin
down the issue.

It's likely that there are other factor's actually causing the router
problems. Did you try plugging a different PC (Kazaa free) into the router
and seeing if it still did it?

A search at Google groups makes it appear that faulty broadband cabling or
power supply issues are a likely culprit of router resets:

Ask the author of the problem program.

Tell your brother to switch to E-Mule. Not as fast but a better selection of
downloads and no adware.
