Are you wanting to translate English to Chineese, Or just look at the
charicters representing each letter. Im no Chineese expert, but if you
are wanting the charictes to put one of your sentaces in Chineese, that
wont work because it will be completley differant due to grammer and
what not. (they wont say it in the same way) If you have chineese
language packs installed you can see them by typing in charmap in the
run dialouge box. And also for translation I find this is good.

rootj4m13,

Thanks for your quick response.

I know Chinese, and am trying to find a free software for typing into
Chinese characters by spelling them in the standard way of P. R. China.

Do you happen to know a free software like this?

Thanks,

qcl

Sorry about the delay. I havent had much time recently.
There is a very simple and free way to achive what you are wanting to
do.
Firstly check out http://tinyurl.com/ednh7
Thats the traditional chinese keyboard layout.
Then print that out and all you have to do is use that as a refrance
once you have changed your keyboard settings.

Now you know what keys do what you need to change your keyboard
layout.
#

Select Start->Control Panel.
#

If you're viewing by categories (the default), click Date, Time,
Language, and Regional Options.
#

Click Regional and Language Options.
#

Click the Languages tab
#

Click the Details button
#

Click the Add button
#
From there select your language and keyboard settings, alough it should
do it automatically. Press Ok.
#

Now just change the default input language.

Note: you will have to change this evry time you want to but another
language in. E.g you would have to change it back when you wanted to
type in english, I belive.
