Software RAID 1 on extrnal USB drives?

Baron Samedi

It seems that wnodws will only let me make dynamic disks (RAID 1) on
internal drives. I don't have spacew internally. Does anyone know how
to get mirror RAID in software on XP?

Thanks in advance.

Actually windows should have nothing to say about a RAID set, youre set should
already be configured before windows,it gets set in youre BIOS & post BIOS
RAID configuration setting (MS-DOS)..One can add,& make up a set in windows,
RAID 1 is mirrored,as is RAID 0..As for software, use the RAID software for
the
installed controller ICH5 6,7,8,or ICH9,are intels,silicon image
also.Review youre
boards features for info,or run intel chipset identification utility from
intel downloa-
ds/chipset/software....

Windows XP does have a software RAID. However, Microsoft has
purposely made any external hard drive (USB and Firewire) not to be
able to boot any Windows XP.
