software problem's with XP

When I'm in "My Computer" and I try to open my "C: Drive", instead of being
sent to a C: drive Directory, I'm sent to the "Search" Page. To get to my C:
drive I have to go in through a different way completely.
How do I correct the problem. I use "My Computer" quite a bit, and the only
thing it seems to do this with is the "C: Drive".

R.click C: drive,select open.
