software issue/ Adobe Photoshop 2.0

After downloading Windows XP Service Pack 2, my Adobe
Photoshop no longer works. Error message: You must have
a screen resolution of 800x600 pixels and color greater
than 256"
Checked resolution and it was ok, went into "games" to
reset color at 256 (now at 32 bits which is tops)Nothing
worked.

Have you tried removing and reinstalling Photoshop. If that doesn't work go to
the maker of you video card to see if their is a newer driver for it.

Is that Photoshop Elements 2.0, or a very old version of Photoshop?
