Software is missing from TD

I installed the XPe eval kit a few days ago, built up a fairly
barebones working image, that boots up, but nothing else, no icons,
nothing in the start menu, although I do have a start bar. Anyways,
when I was building my first image (flawed, had to restart) there was
the ability to add stuff like xp checkers and applications like
mspaint, and now they are no longer there. So I uninstalled TD and the
database and MSSQL, and then re-installed everything, but they still
haven't re-appeared. Any idea as to why these things disppeared from
TD? Everything else seems to still be there.

skomes,

Please take a look at the "User Interface Core" component's Settings.

Also, please read XPe documentation before you start creating images:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/xpehelp/html/startpage.asp.

Um, I don't think you read my post. I'm saying I can no longer
access/find any components when I go in to Software > Applications. The
categories for business and games and stuff are still there, but no
components, I can't find anything. I know how to get stuff like desktop
icons and stuff, I know about the user interface core, like I said, I
built a barebones image, it was a test. If you'd thoroughly read my
post, you'd have realized what my actual problem was.

Well.. I must admit I did not understand your original post. Now, when you mentioned the "Software > Applications" I could have
guessed you were referring to the problem of seeing some (or all) system components in TD.

Anyway, the "Software-->Application" category have never had much [anything] of the stuff there. If you install your own components
there, or things like SMS QFE - then you can see some application components appearing there.
If you want to include system components (applications like mspaint, etc.) you should explore "Software-->System" category.

Also, please utilize TD Filtering option to search for components that contain particular files. E.g., the mspaint.exe is a part of
"Windows Accessories" component.

Also, please make sure your TD options set to the Expert mode and min visibility level is set at least to 1000.
