Software does not Auto Update

Everything seems great so far but I have not seen the
application automaticaly update it self. I've already
done the check for updates twice this month and have
manually installed the new spyware updates.

I can't stress enough how much this sort of application
should update it self. Hopefully, the next version does
auto update.

You can acquire the updates by ensuring you have AutoUpdater turned on
(Options > Settings) or File > Check for Updates (Manual)

You won't see it update itself.

This feature works in the background, much like
WindowsUpdate when you select the "Automatic
(recommended)" option. You will not see it launch
Microsoft AntiSpyware AutoUpdater. The reason for this
behavior is that launching the same dialog box that
launches when you try to manually update the program
would be asinine. This dialog box renders the rest of
the app totally unusable until the dialog box is closed.
Not to mention that the app must be launched AND open for
the dialog box to open. Therefore, the only time that
the program would be able to update itself is when you
have the app open.

Almost every other program updates itself in the
background without interupting the user. You might not
see the updated definition files until you close the app
and then relaunch it. This likely has something to do
with the fact that the program only sees the old data in
the Help > About Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware... screen
which it loads when the program is first launched, and
closing and relaunching thewn loads the correct
information.
