Snap to shape

I have a recatangle that I want to use as a "template". i want to be
able to Ctrl drag it and snap it to another to the right of another
rectangle of the same height. Everytime I set the Snap to Shape, it
seems to activate the Snap to Grid also, and snaps it to the grid. How
can I just snap to shape only?

I want to be able to create a rectange, and snap it to another
rectangle. The heights of both rectangles would be the same, though
the lengths would be different.
